Beautiful is the Earth - Our story

We create everything we do out of our gratitude and fascination with how amazing, wondrous and rich the Earth is – hence our name.

"Beautiful is the Earth."

Anne-Kathrine and Louise

We met on the stone bridge in the heart of Copenhagen many years ago when we were studying French. But it was a shared passion for plants, herbs and scents that brought us close to each other.

After her studies, Anne-Kathrine moved into the forest on the Jutland ridge, where she now cultivates the land according to the principles of permaculture, collects wild herbs and makes tinctures, creams and soaps.

Louise spends a lot of time on her desert farm in Sweden, where she cultivates the soil and makes plant extracts for our creams.

Every summer we meet for a longer period at Louise's wilderness farm, where we collect plants, make tinctures and extracts, and develop new products.

About Delightful is the Earth's products

A product is only as good as the ingredients used to make it. That's why we only use the raw materials we think are the best and tastiest on the market. On that basis, we can create products of the highest quality that nourish and revitalize your skin and your senses, while also being good for our Earth.

All of our ingredients are certified organic according to EU standards or wildcrafted by us, primarily on Louise's land in the Swedish forests - because it is important to us that we mainly use plants from our own part of the world.

The plants, oils and essential oils we work with are selected and composed based on scientific and folk medicine knowledge as well as our own experience regarding their properties and effects on skin and connective tissue.

To preserve, we add vitamin E and take advantage of the plants' own antibacterial properties. The shelf life is therefore shorter than when chemical preservatives are added. For us, this is the most meaningful way to preserve our products.

The materials we work with are living and all our products are hand-mixed in small batches. Therefore, the products may vary slightly from batch to batch - the content will always be the same.

Our signature herbs

We have two Nordic herbs that are common in all our products: Marigold and Yarrow.

Yarrow has its Latin name (Achillea Millefolium) after the Greek mythological hero Achilles, whose mother dipped him in Yarrow as protection, but held him by the heel, which was therefore not protected, which is why his Achilles heel could be hit. Yarrow has reportedly been traditionally used to stop bleeding and heal wounds and mucous membranes. In magic, the plant has been used as protection. It also has a profound effect on women's hormonal system, but that's another story.

In ancient tales, Marigold is known to be healing, cleansing and bactericidal and was mainly used externally to treat wounds, eczema, skin disorders and burns.
